During the month of August, the renowned Cable Beach Club hosts the eagerly awaited Cable Carnival, which coincides with the highly popular Broome Cup at The Broome Turf Club, proudly sponsored by Cable Beach Club.
The Cable Carnival spans three days and offers a thrilling array of events and entertainment, taking place throughout the impressive venue and event space at the Cable Beach Club resort. Upon check-in to the Resort, you will receive an itinerary and wristbands, giving you access to the following exclusive events:
You won’t experience a sundowner quite like the ones hosted at Cable Beach Club. From 4pm – 6pm on the 17th August, guests can soak up the beautiful panoramic views of the sun setting over the world-famous Cable Beach whilst enjoying free-flowing beverages and chef-made canapés. Musicians Mark & Jessie will be playing live music to complete the mood. It’s the perfect way to begin the Cable Carnival activities.
Following from the Sundowner, guests can stroll over to the resort’s Kichi Kichi restaurant from 7.00pm – late where the WA winery Vasse Felix showcases their exquisite selection, with each drop accompanied with a delicious bite to eat. Kichi Kichi has prepared a Thai-inspired four-course meal for the evening, highlighting vibrant flavours with Broome’s fresh local produce.

From 12.00pm – 5.00pm on Friday 18th August, those who are over 18 can enjoy an exclusive event by the Ocean Pool as DJ Wildflower provides the energetic atmosphere with her electric beats. Taking place from Saturday, August 26th, 2023, to Sunday, September 10th, 2023, the Shinju Matsuri, which translates to “Pearl Festival” in Japanese, is a unique celebration commemorating the rich history of pearl farming. This event serves as a testament to the congregation of diverse cultures that came together in their pursuit of cultivating pearls. Starting from the 1800s, Japanese, Chinese, Malay, Koepanger, Filipino, and European individuals flocked to Broome, forming a vibrant cultural melting pot alongside the local community and the First Nation peoples of the area. It’s this history that played a big role in building Broome’s economy, culture and people.
During the festival, individuals can expect culturally rich and symbolic experiences that vary from food, dance, music and lights.
