Accessible Accommodation Accreditation

Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa is dedicated to providing a welcoming and accessible environment for all guests. Our comprehensive approach to accessibility ensures that individuals with diverse needs can enjoy a comfortable and hassle-free stay. 

Our Resort caters to the following needs:  

  • Blind or low vision  
  • Deaf or low hearing
  • Limited mobility  
  • Wheelchairs or mobility scooters  
  • Food allergies or intolerances  
  • Cognitive impairments or people on the Autism Spectrum

Pre-Arrival and Reception 

The Resort’s booking information and websites are screen-reader compatible, ensuring ease during the reservation process. Recently, RMS Cloud was installed to facilitate communication with guests before arrival, allowing for shortened check-in time.

Upon arrival, guests will find accessible reception areas equipped with seating, lower counters, clipboards and communication aids like tablets with text-to-voice functions. Additionally, glare-free lighting and clear written information are implemented at reception to enhance the arrival experience.

Accommodation and Facilities 

Accessible Accommodations 

The Resort offers single-level accommodation, with bedroom furniture to be re-arranged upon request. Accessible features include fitted handles and handrails, non-allergenic bedding and cleaning products, unobstructed paths through the room, diverse volume and sound controls and contrasting furnishing colours such as walls, skirtings, floor and furniture. The following bed types are available: one double, queen, king, or two single beds.

Bathroom taps are differentiated between hot and cold, with hot water thermostatically controlled to 41 degrees. The shower is designed with a portable shower head on a flexible hose and a fold-down fixed seat or shower chair. 

The Accessible Garden View Studio is designed with wider doorways, larger floor plan, ramps and furniture set to lower levels. Bedroom furniture can be re-arranged on request and housekeeping will be instructed to not reposition any furniture that has been moved.
The bathroom toilet space is designed with a minimum of 850mm space beside the toilet and a minimum of 1400mm of clear space in front of the toilet. The toilet seat is a contrasting colour to the floor and 460mm above the floor.
The Studio bathroom features fixtures and fittings with rounded edges and an entry door that is at least 850mm wide.
Public Areas and Amenities 

Public spaces are well-lit, with available seating and step-free routes clearly marked. Pathways are smooth and wide, ensuring easy navigation. The resort also provides a quiet space for parents and children in the Autism Spectrum to minimise stress and enhance support for guests. 

Dietary Requirements  

Our Kitchen can accommodate various dietary requirements, including:  

  • Gluten-free (Coeliac)  
  • Lactose-free (Dairy-free) 
  • Nut-free 
  • Vegetarian 
  • Vegan 

There are procedures in place to avoid cross-contamination of food products. 

Support for Service Animals 

Guests travelling with service animals will find the Resort well-equipped to accommodate their needs. The Resort offers secure areas with shade and water, toilet areas, and essential items like bowls and bedding for service animals. Please let our friendly team know when booking if you have any requirements for your companion.

Cognitive Impairment Support 

The Resort provides documents in plain English to assist guests with cognitive impairments. The documents include instructions, guides, menus and general information. 

Parking and Entry 

Accessible parking bays and drop-off zones close to the entrance make arrival and departure convenient. The Resort ensures level or ramped access from the car park to the entrance, with clear signage and kerb ramps where needed. Entry doors are designed to be wide, with self-opening or light manual operation options, and sufficient clear space in front.
