Clean Energy at Cable Beach Club

We’re thrilled to announce the successful outcome of our PV (photovoltaic) solar system at Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa. Under the leadership of our parent company Hawaiian, Perdaman Advanced Energy were tasked with crafting a dependable system to power the Resort while making significant strides in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The solar panels were installed in 2022 and are now operating consistently and efficiently, supplying eco-friendly energy to the Resort and the 31,000 guests we welcome annually.

This comprehensive system boasts 600kW (kilowatt) of solar panels. It consists of 50kW of panels on the Sunset Bar on the main property, 250Kw of car park solar structures at the southern end of the property and a 300kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) powerhouse, which was constructed from scratch.

The system is projected to generate a substantial 547,500 kW of energy and reduce 377 metric tonnes of carbon emissions each year – an amount equivalent to planting 56,000 trees over a span of 25 years.

The installation is part of a wider green program across the Resort, which includes glass and aluminium recycling, waterwise taps and shower heads to minimise water wastage, cardboard compacting which is fully recycled here in Broome, all-variety battery recycling, installation of water bottle fountains around the Resort to encourage guests to reuse water bottles and non-returnable glass recycling, processed locally and reused in construction.
